Well it all depends on the amount of money you are willing to spend. Intel Core Duo 2.0ghz will cost more than AMD Turion 64x2 T-L60 At 2.0ghz. They both have the same speed, but I have found out that AMD works just as good as the Intel. So if you don't want to spend the big bucks then go with AMD, and if you have money to spend then go with Intel.

The "to the point "answer is Core Duo 2.0GHz is faster than AMD.

Now comes the unwanted suggestion (which only foolish people provides), anyhow, before buying, you should also consider the power consumption by the unit, continuous working over it and also the weight it carries.

However, as far as speed is concerned, there may not be a noticeable difference but the AMD definitely consumes more power and heats up more quickly than Intel.

No doubt. the AMD is cheaper by about 15-20%.

Now it's up to you to decide.

In a Laptop, you would want Intel because they tend to be more energy efficient and, therefore, extend your battery life and run cooler. They do also, however, tend to be more expensive.

When it all comes down to it, though, there is no real truly significant difference. They're both processors running at 2.0 GHz.

My recommendation for Laptops rests with Intel while for desktops it rests with AMD, but, again, its really not that significant of a difference between the two, a few nanoseconds here and there, and some different structuring of datapaths and whatnot.

Good luck! :)

Intel core 2 duo is best. 1 cores speed is 1.83,then two cores speed is 1.83+1.83.also it supports "duo" technology which makes to the total of four core
