I remember it being a fun game... until I got knocked on my face by the opposing side at a birthday party. My nose was bleeding everywhere, and I never played it again.
Most games turn out like that sometimes, I guess. Here's a link that explains the game: http://www.dhfs.state.wi.us/kids/activities/redrover.htm

There is two lines of kids holding hands facing each other. One side screams" Red rover red rover saint____ Red rover" The blank is someones name from the other side. That person tries to run into between someones hands from the other side and breaks through. if they dont break through, The the runner has to go to the other team. That the way i remember it.

you have to get a bunch of kids together...make sure you have an even amount for 2 teams...then you have to have one team on one side and a team on the other...they have to make a straight line and hold hand then they will have to say red rover red rover send so and so right over then that person will have to try and break through if they can't then they will have to go back to their team then the other team does the same if they break through then they have to say on that team that they broke through then keep going from there until they get tired of playing lol...hope this helps...i loved this game when i was in school

There are two teams and the teams all attach arms and say there's a blue team and a red team so say if its the reds teams turn tell say " Red rover Red rover send (name) over then the person who the opponent team called has to try to break the wall they made by laking arms and if you do your team gets a point (the team that broke the wall) and lets say you go to 10 points the team that gets 10 people through the wall wins.

Kids line up in two lines, each line holding hands and facing the other. The two lines should be some distance apart for running back and forth. The first line chooses a runner from the other line to call, saying "Red Rover, Red Rover, Let [chosen child] come over." That child runs to the other line, trying to break through the hands of two children. If the runner breaks through, he chooses someone from that line and takes them back to his line. If he doesn't break through, he joins that line. The game ends when all children are in one line. *Note, arm holding is not allowed.

Red Rover is a game that involves two teams that stand about 20 feet apart linking arms to form a chain if you like....
Then the teams take turns in calling out names from the other team: "red rover red rover we call (name) over"
When the person is called they have to run at the opposing team and try to break through the chain...
If they suceed they go back to their original team taking with them a member of the other team with them...
If they can't break the chain they must join that team...
The game continues till all the players are one one side and thats it....start again...lol...

Yeah I think a bunch of kids stand in a line, hand in hand, and the same thing in another line facing them about 20 ft away. Then one side says, "Red rover, red rover, send (name) over) and that person they called has to run as fast as they can and try to break through the arms of the kids of the other side. Basically try to break through their strength so the other side still holding hands has to prevent him from breaking through by holding on really tight
Hope this helps

Red rover red rover send miss hottie right over!!! Oh god the years its been.
Two teams form a line with hands linked. The first team choose a person from the other team and says red rover red rover send miss hottie right over. Miss hottie has to run through and break through the line or she has to join the other team. Now the second team repeats the process untill theres no one left on one team.

It's dislocated shoulder, concussion, broken wrist waiting to happen, but fun as heck. It ranks right up there with King of the Mountain and lawn darts. So kids form two lines about 10 yards apart from each other and hold hands. They call a player from the other team over "Red rover red rover send TO over!" If he breaks through their chain of hands then he takes a player back with him. IF they hold him and keep him from breaking through they keep him. It's savage, but fun.
