I live close, I have experience working in fast food, I'm 19 I go to college with a schedule good for working, I fill out the entire damn 70 question quiz.
WTF is wrong with me
They have a sign on the front of the store that says NO HIRING
Yet I give them my application and go to the interview and then they never talk to me again. I even go back and check on the application a few days after the interview.
I WANT TO WORK DAMN IT
I NEED THE MONEY
Why is it so hard to find a job.

How long is your hair and is it well kept? Alot of restaurants and food chains around town here in Tampa shy away from potential issues of hair getting into food. Also, don't wipe your nose on your shirt or sneeze while going through the interview process with the manager. Basically, don't do the obvious.
Also, some chains may be hiring for other locations also. The McDonalds' here in Tampa often asks possible new hires if they are willing to work at a further location so make sure you know you are being interviewed for that specific location.

1, There is alot of people that apply for a job there.
2. maybe your sch, does not meet the need they have.
3. they have already fill the spot.
Look I am a manager a fastfood place.
I have seen many people that need job and want to work yet they only may want to working mornings. Yet we need someone for 9 pm to 5 am. Or maybe the days you go to school is when they may need you.
Look keep trying try other places yet it not ok there is many factors that can be in play.
Also some times its much ezr to get a job cuz of a friend that already works there or has fam that works or know that works there.
By the way in CA we can not turn you away if you want a app.we must give one.

Maybe your body language projects the defensiveness and anger your question reflects. Fast food places want friendly as well as hard working staff.
Try coming across in your interviews as more positive. The only other thing I can think of is since you're in college maybe the restaurants think you won't stay with the job long enough to justify hiring you.

You need to work on your attitude. You go into an interview with a chip on your shoulder, you will be shown the door! Fast Food places want people who are pleasant, polite and keep their cool. Work on your people skills, be persistent in applying, and smile....
As for being McDonalds hiring only skinny people, that is not true, I have been to several McD's and there are all shapes and sizes. That would be descriminating. McD's is supposed to an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Maybe they want someone who is more careful and can tell NOW from NO. They probably figure that anyone who slips up on the simple stuff probably doesn't wash their hands when they leave the toilet either.
When you interviewed did you feel that you were really connecting with the interviewer? Sometimes it is a hidden personality conflict or a reaction to any attitude they perceive and not really a lack of skills on your part. Around here (New England) fast food places are really searching for workers and will try anyone just in the hope that they will work out.

I hate to say this...you're over-qualified. Therefore they think you'll want more money. It's happened to me too. I couldn't even get a job as a dishwasher with my experience. So I applied at more upscale places. Then I was under-qualified. It's a total Catch-22. I gave up and switched careers. And it was a good move. Go with your hobbies. Do you like cars, books, sports? Try those retail places. They'll probably pay more than fast food and look better on your resume anyway!

I would ask specifically why you're not being hired when they're hiring and you have experience. I've never found a fast food place to be that picky about who it hires, unless you're walking around covered in filth or have a felony conviction (and then it depends what it is).

dude, if you can't get a job in fast food, i would take a serious look at your interviewing skills, and maybe at the way you present yourself to other people. you may think you look and act appropriately, but the rest of the world may have a different opinion. interviewers base most of their decisions on factors that have nothing to do with your desire or abilities to work. university experiments have shown that most interviewers (for unskilled jobs) make decisions based on your "likeablility quotient" rather than other more concrete criteria. keep trying, don't give up.

allot of times when you go to an interview they are looking to see how well dressed you are, clean, etc. they are also looking at the way you carry yourself and how you talk. you may want to ask why you were passed over.
it also depends on what you are requesting for pay rate. remember fast food places want to start you as close to minimum wage as possible
