the men simply don't take soccer as seriously as the women do but than again a sport where all you do is run up and down a field kicking a ball and in a lot of cases the winning team only wins by one point is simply to difficult for me to fathom why anyone in their right mind watches anyway.

For american men soccer may be 4th or 5th on the list of sports to play growing up..
football, baseball, basketball... then a drop off in interest from there..
Soccer is one of top 3 for girls growing up..
Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball..

Because American men are confused about soccer. 80 percent of the world calls the game football. Americans only want one game called football. American women on the other hand, would like to see the Professional American Football disappear.
