Really... life is for the right now. And when you get old and look back at what you have done... then you can say... that was the purspose of your life.
Really we dont have a predetermined purpose in life... we were not born with an intructional manual. So i guess that only means that life is an open book for us to write on.

The purpose of your life is for you to discover. But let me remind you of the basics. Serving the god is not the purpose you were created. Humans have the free will to do what he wants. There are only two choices, doing good or doing bad. The bad things come to us in pretense of being good. So, when we are decieved to do bad things, thinking it is good, we later find out that it hurt us, instead of making us happy. Then, we come to realize it was a bad thing we did. If we did anything and it made us happy and it did not hurt us, we come to experience it was the right thing to do and it is good.
Offsprings are the products of love between a man and a woman and its expression through sex. At the right time and with the right person, offsprings are a delight and joy. For those who are not yet prepared for the responsibility of rearing children, it is such a nuisance to be required with.
So, do what you want to do, but assess first, if the product of what you are going to do, will give you happiness. Don't blame it on God, for He is the source of everything that is good. You alone can make the choice. All bad things come from His enemy.

First, there is no such thing as purpose of life unless there is a God.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
If God exists, then He must have put our need for meaning and purpose into our human nature to point us to seek Him. Seeking God and allowing Him to reveal Himself is our purpose. Where does serving God come in? We seek and find God by obeying (serving) God in His command for us to love our neighbor for where love is, there God is also.
BTW, "reproducing" is a common answer but completely wrong. The very word, "purpose" requires an intelligence and evolution is a mindless, natural process incapable of giving purpose. Evolution doesn't care whether we reproduce or not any more than a snow storm cares whether the snow flakes melt or not.

Your purpose in life is 1. To find the purpose, and you have begun that part, in order to find the purpose find God and your relationship with Him will open up many doors it will show you your purpose, whether it is the type of work you do, how you interact with people, if you have a skill or craft that enriches other peoples lives.
For example, I love people, elderly and children they are innocent and if I can smile say a kind word give of my time or substance it makes me happy and fulfilled - purpose. My motto is I am not here to make a living but living to make a difference.

I would say that your only duty was to God and in that duty it is that you live your life to the fullest, happiest and best manner in which you can demonstrate. He wants you to only be happy and enjoy that which he has given you. Same for your offspring's.....live, drink and merry, but remember...you are a child of God so conduct your life according to your understanding of his love for you.
