If it is a small spot... trim a bit of carpet fuzzies from inside a closet or another inconspicuous edge. Trim the bleached fibers from your spot and use super glue to glue on the new fibers. Let dry and rub your hand over to blend in.

I know this may sound dishonest but considering how the majority of property managers try to find bogus things to deduct from your deposit, I would try to cover the spot by very carefully using a number of permanent markers pens. Working from the strand up, experiment on carefully blending the color without letting it get too dark. I would use Sharpie pens but other types of markers would work as well, maybe even better if the colors were a closer match to the carpet color. This way, if the carpet is cleaned after you move out, the color won't wash out as readily. (Experiment with some carpet cleaners too, after you apply the marker pens. That may help fade the color better and get it to blend anyway.)

I have had this happen a few times over the years. Take a string of the carpet to a store that carries RIT dye to match it. You may have to buy a couple colors and make your own blend. Mix it up and dab on the spot with a toothbrush to really get it blended in.
Even if it's not exactly perfect, it's better than a bleach spot!

I''ve had pretty good luck with painting over bleach spots on clothes with fabric paint, available at craft stores. You may have to buy a few bottles or tubes and mix colors to match the carpet, but that's far cheaper than forfeiting your deposit or paying for the carpet!

If the carpet is a dark sand color, try getting a powder makeup thats the same color and sprinkle it on to match, kind of work it in like you would into an applicator brush, that should cover it...

I used to work for a property management company. We used to hire a carpet cleaner that would dye the spot to match the rest of the carpet. It would cost about $50.00.

Between you and me, taking some brown mascara and swishing it into the fibers and then taking a damp towel to the spot to remove the excess brown pigment should bring it back up to that sand color.

Hope this helps.

If the carpet become made in the final 15 years , theres not plenty you're able to do in any respect. The extra recent yarn equipment have the dyes warmth set in and generally the stain guards too. The yarns will now not take a dye which will final and carry. Sorry... GL

with a little luck you can find liquid Rit clothing dye that matches your carpet color. Apply full strength with a cotton swab or something similar and let it dry. Rit is a permanent dye. I used it on a green carpet with excellent results.
