The correct term is Intersexed...

The term hermaphrodite is an outdated term like calling someone a mongoloid...

People are not very open-minded about sexuality in the USA and they tend to call people things that offend them and not bother to learn the terms that people prefer....

Also, you HAVE met people who are Intersexed... you just don't know it because they keep it to themselves... they are afraid people will judge them or they will get caught up in some kind of controversy.

I know of a very famous intersexed person who is on TV regularly.

You know, it bothers me that conservatives get so caught up trying to rally people against gay rights that they forget about the many people who are born with both sexes or no sexuality at all...
Where do they fit in? People need to stop being so judgemental.

If someone is born with both male and female parts they are a work of wonder, otherwise known as a "Hermaphrodite". I think that this is the perfect being; having both sexual organs opreational; if we all were only this way.

Imagine that being born a Hermaphrodite is the norm and being born with only one sexual organ is abnormal. That would completely invalidate the concept of homosexual, bisexual, hetrosexual. I'm sure there would be som other terminology.

I have never personally met a Hermaphrodite, and the thought scares me. I think I would immediately fall in love with any sexual incounter with such a person. I think they were what GOD actually intended for humanity to be, but he did a Homer Simpson, duhhh!

Oprah discussed the book "Middlesex" - and was written by Jeffrey Eugenides who was born a hermaphrodite.
This is a great book; a great read and very interesting.
