Spartan these are fine words to use when trying to express your love and devotion towards each other. But hopefully the hurt is a good feeling or means that you would be hurt emotionally if someone was to happen to the other. As for having these same feeling, well you don't have to come hunting down this old fool as I do not have these feeling for your lady. And in reality I do not think I have ever expressed this type of emotion to my most loving and devoted wife. Although we do admire and love each other more with each and every day that we are together I do not feel that our love hurts but rather is heals.

I feel that way about my daughter I've felt it since the day she was born, she is a wonderful human being. Unfortunately I've never felt like that about a partner, so I think you are very lucky, there again you sound like nice people so you deserve it.
