The best team of the past 5 years of football, considered by some to be a dynasty has gotten in trouble for CHEATING in the NFL. Now that it has proven that it was not a level playing field, that the reason the colts have trouble beating the patriots is that the pats defense knows what peyton's audibles mean... Doesn't it follow that all of those rings are now tainted? I mean, even the Giants might win some games if they knew exactly what was coming! I'm not saying they knew absolutely everything, but they sure as hell knew more than they deserved to, they outright cheated at the highest level of competition in sports. That's worse than steroids, it's an entire team thing. I'm curious what you guys think.

Absolutely YES it is tainted! The worst is that Bill Belichick, somone at the top level of a franchise would do this. It disrespects not only the other 31 teams, but everyone that ever has played. To think that winning by any means necessary is more important than winning the right way says a lot about this country's priorities. What ever happened to honesty, integrity, morality, and pride? Belichick is trash and he will never be respected by me again. All that and he has the gall to be a jerk to the media and try to cheat off his former employee, Eric Mangini. The commisioner is in bed with Kraft (Pats' owner) so he just gave them a slap on the wrist. It really sucks because the NFL had been the premier sport in this country and after steroids in baseball and thugs and bad refs in the NBA, what do we have left?
I think Belichick should be banned from football for life. I think what he did is worse than what Pete Rose did.

As much as I dislike the patriots no it is not tainted. This was not like the players were cheating it was the coaches all that hard work by the players should not be taken away because of their coach's dumb move. I don't see how you can fairly just assume that every player on the new england patriots team was aware of this. Its a lot like Tim Donaghy in the NBA you can not say the players don't deserve it because of someone else influencing the game.

And I guarantee you taping defensive signals is nothing new its just the patriots suck at doing it inconspicuously.

When the head man of any organization is a cheater, this type of behavior tends to permeate throughout the entire organization. To the Patriots, cheating was (and possibly still is) a way of life. It makes you wonder what else they're doing. Rodney Harrison (one of the team's best defensive players and team leader) was recently suspended for testing positive for HGH (According to federal agents and Harrison himself, Harrison received a shipment of HGH, with his name on it, just days before the 2004 Super Bowl). In my estimation, if your willing to cheat by stealing signs, then you're also willing to cheat by using performance enhancers.

I think the championships are tainted. It matters not how they perform this year. The 2007 Patriots are a much better team with Randy Moss, Wess Welker and Daunte Stallworth. In my opinion, the past championships are tainted whether they win or lose in 2007.

There are certainly questions about the past
.
However, given the pitiful "punishment" they got, if they win one this year this will be the most tainted NFL season ever. This thing could really hurt the league in the long term.

yeah, it's tainted somewhat. bill belicheat is a piece of crap. he said he wouldn't comment on the issue until he saw what the nfl was going to do, then after that he said it was in the past and wasn't going to comment on it. he's like a criminal who never had to take the stand in his own defense but still somehow got off. he should have been suspended for some or all of this season.

Keep crying noobs, meanwhile we will keep celebrating the best dynasty football ever had. 3 or 4 more superbowls to go, deal with it.

I would have to say that the infamous "asterisk" would apply to those Superbowl wins
