they still want to do it. They have names picked ou and everything, they are so excited!!! Should I let them do this or will I regret it?

Chia pets make excellent starter pets, but tend to be inside pets. If the Garden Gnomes adopt a couple, the Chias will need a shelter for cold or rainy days. And you should get a concrete goose or two to fend off cats and other predators.
Let them do it. But supervise feeding, watering and scooping the litter box.
And keep a dust pan and broom handy in case the Gnomes play too rough.

Well, maybe you should let them adopt, but have you named as special guardian, just incase there are problems. You never know, those chia pets could grow up to be troubled youths.

It's a good thing for them to have little chia pets, until one of them ends up with crabgrass?

i think you will regret it,especially when you have to walk the chia pets.
