Spain signed preliminary articles with BRITAIN on Jan. 20th, 1783. These agreements were signed as definite treaties on September 3rd, 1783 at the Treaty of Paris.

As a result, Spain reacquired the Floridas (East and West) from BRITAIN and the island of Minorca. The Bahamas and St. Kitts were returned to Britain.

i.e. When Britain signed both the preliminary and the later Peace Treaty, BRITAIN was the one to give Florida to Spain - the thirteen U.S. colonies did not give Florida to Spain.
