I have a Jeep with a 5.2 engine and the passenger side plug in the VERY back is stuck! No I didn't do it....Goodyear in Mt. Home AR when I had problems with it .I had one on the diver side do the same thing when I first bought it and was changing them for the first time .It broke but I got it out but the passenger side has way less room! Should I go ahead and break the plug like I did the other and try to use a back-out or just leave it in forever!!?

If you knock the head off and put a short socket on it you should be able to get it out. Now if you chose to do it, make sure th socket is a 6 point and not a 12 point. The reason is, depending on how hard the plug is stuck if you use a 12 point you might have the socket round of the edges of the plug because they are not “bullet proof” and will roll, by using a 6 point you may break the socket but not roll the plug. When you put the plugs back in, take some graphite paste or anti-lock fluid and put it on the threads about three threads back from the firing end. That will make them easier to remove next time but I need to caution you, do not get the graphite or fluid near the firing end as it might short the plug out.

All depends. I break the torque of it and back it up by hand on the hard to reach ones. And use the socket and a small extension and start it by hand. If you can give easy more than 2 turns you are on the threads. If not, back off and be patience.

One thing is, buy Platinum plugs, the last about 100,000 easy. So next time needs a change, is well pass the trade in time :-)

Some plugs are easier to be reach from the bottom of the car, you have to be creative sometimes. Your common sense is your best allied.

Get some liquid wrench. Every night spray on the plug. Do for 5 days. Then in the morning, start the car. Let it idle for 20 minutes and see the plug will come loose. Sometimes a plug is easier to remove when the block is hot.

This is not easy BUT.... try to rearange all the stuff that is in your way then run the motor 10 minutes or so getting it HOT... Using a6point socket and rachet with as long as you can get it in there maybe get a small pipe to slip over the rachet handle turn the plug out while the motor is hot..... Maybe only a 1/16 of a turn @ a time good luck

just do it from under the fender liner, use a couple mid extensions and wobble joints... use a lil anti sieze compound on the new plugs threads if you plan on keepin the jeep
