Multyply ANY number by 9 and sum of your answer will always be 9 or a multiple of nine.
Example:
587 x 9 = 5,283; 5+2+8+3 = 18; 1 + 8 = 9

You can check an addition problem with a method called casting out nines.
With this method you add every number in the addends till you get a one digit number. Then add those two.
Do the same with the sum. The ending numbers are the same if the addition was done correctly.
When you cast out 9's you first cross out all 9's in each addend and all numbers whose sum is 9. then add the rest and the result will be the same.

_6,726 6+7+2+6 = 21; 2 + 1 = 3
+ 9,238 9+2+3+8 = 22; 2 + 2 = 4 you add 4 + 3 = 7
15,964 1+5+9+6+4 = 25; 2 + 5 = 7
