Make text superscript or subscript
Select the text that you want to format as superscript or subscript. On the Format menu, click Font, and then click the Font tab. Select the Superscript or Subscript check box.
Keyboard shortcuts
Superscript: Press CTRL+SHIFT+=
Subscript: Press CTRL+=

Highlight the 3, click on tools and select font. In the font window you will have an option to check "superscript". Select superscript and that should do it...

-Type cm3 first
-Select 3
-Now click on Format menu available on standard toolbar
-Click on Font
-Now check the option "Superscript" under "Effects" heading
-Finally press enter and u r done !
