D. 5 miles. You know 3 miles is 60 percent of the total distance. So 3 = .60x Divide by .60 on both sides and you get x = 3/.60 , x = 5

Since 60% of the jog is 3 miles, let 60% be 3 miles to find 100%

60% -> 3 miles
1% -> 3÷60 = 0.05 miles
100% -> 0.5 x 10 = 5 miles

Solve as a proportional Problem

3/60 = x/100

The means = 60x

The extremes = 3(100

The equation

60x = 3(100)

60x = 300

Divide both sides of the equation by 60

60x / 60 = 300 / 60

x = 300/60

x = 5

- - - - - -

The total distance jogged is 5 miles
