The Professor is really Digory from the first book, the magician's nephew. When Digory and Polly came back from Narnia, they buried the rings around an apple tree that grew from a narnian apple. That tree was blown over in a storm, and Digory had the wardrobe made out of it, which is why it's a Narnian portal. He doesn't own the world; he just owns the temorary way to get into it. You really should read the other books; they're fantastic. Start with the Magician's Nephew.

The old professor in the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe is the young hero in The Magician's Nephew (a prequel) - that book explains where the lamp-post came from, and also how the Witch got to Narnia.

I am not sure what you mean by "Why does she own the world ?" - the witch, do you mean ? She does not own the world.
