My story is just about finished and it has 22,300 words. Is it a novel, or a short story or what?

It's a long short story.

If an 80,000 word story is roughly in the 300 page range, you are one fourth of that.

Short stories end at 100, then it's a novella, and at 150 or so, it can start to be called a novel, although that is incredibly short for a novel. Some publishers will call it a novel though, if it's 150 pages at least.

Your's is 75 pages, so it's a long short story.

It sounds like a novella to me. A little too long to be a short story, and a little too short to be a novel. Hope that helps!

a novel is usually at least 80,000. and that's too long for a short story, so yeah, novella.

Using the so-called "magic formula" of 250 words per page, 22300 / 250 = 89.2 pages. Novella, as the person above me said.
