Remember costumes, parades, and room parties? Are "scary" costumes still allowed? How about blood & guts? Fake, plastic weapons? Or is your school weening from this tradition? Perhaps they're holding a fall festival instead.

Have a best costume contest. Have a party. Have fun. Let the kids enjoy a traditional Halloween. Let them be kids.

Yes i so think they should still celebrate Halloween! Thats like a kid tradition. I think most schools have banned the plastic weapons.. masks and such. But why shouldnt they celebrate it!

See, it's called be politically correct. The liberals don't want to offend any religion or ethnic group. So, besides the fact that tag is outlawed during recess so is being a kid and having a costume.

I personally don't celebrate Halloween but that doesn't necessarily mean it should be removed from the school...Also don't the schools teach about the Salem Witch Trials around that time??

Yes they should. It is one of the only holiday's left that they celebrate in school. I have two in elementary school now. (1st grade & 4th) They don't even celebrate Christmas any more to be "politically correct" and to not offend anyone. I say it's bull crap!!! If you don't want to celebrate because of religious beliefs - don't go to school that day. Why ruin it for those who do celebrate.

Of course they should celebrate Halloween. It's all in good fun. Some people really need to pull the sticks out of their backsides.

I don't remember being allowed to fully dress up any year besides kindergarten (and preschool). I was a bumblebee in kindergarten and we lined up and paraded through the older kids' classrooms! :)

I think all schools should celebrate Halloween........at my school, the elementary (when i was in it) would always have a parade and we'd dress up in our costuems.........they got rid of it though........i wish the little kids could still do it.........

Yes, they should still celebrate Halloween...but since I don't send my kids to public school, I don't know what they do any more!
