No, we're still fighting against the Euro and entering the European union. We were promised a referendum to find out if we wanted to enter the union or not. We are not and there is very little evidence that we ever will be. The union is rife with corruption - the accountants refuse to sign off the union because billions are being siphoned off and stolen. Our delightful masters - the government - did change our coinage, and guess what, they made the pound coin very similar to a one euro coin so that we are being brainwashed into acceptance. No, we are not euroised with our cash. However, watch this space and the smirking faces of our politicians.

No. Ireland is in the Euro-zone. Perhaps that is where the mistake arose.

However, there is something called "Euro-creep" which means that there may be a tendency for traders increasingly to accept the Euro. I don't know how much that is a reality though.

Visiting the UK from other European states is a real pain i-t-a because you have to change currency every time. Also sterling is over-valued vis a vis the Euro so you get a bad deal on the exchange.

A friend from England was just visiting about a week ago. He spoke about using pounds but did not say anything about switching to Euros. Since he and my sister had many economic related discussions, I'm sure he would have said something.
