It is that kind of refusal and stubbornness that has the U S hated by so many countries around the world. It doesnt matter even if it was a photo op, we should have made it happen as a step towards peace and understanding

The wishes of the New York City Fire Department and Police Department not to have Ahmadinejad at Ground Zero are more important than accomdomating a radical Islamic dicatator
You could argue whether or not Iran had anything directly to do with 9-11, but if you listen to his own words Ahmadinejad is as anti United States and Western Civilization as Bin Laden, etc.

Iran and Syria help supply arms to terrorists in Iraq. In turn those same arms kill our soldiers daily. Believe me, this man is not about showing respect to Americans...dead or alive.

Was it also poor Iranian policy not to allow Hillary Clinton to address the ayatollahs consortium and or have a simple meeting with Ahmadinejad ( sp)? What goes around comes around . . . .

hi,
if it was a act of kindness and understanding.
my understanding is that in nearly all of his speeches to his people he makes a point to announce death to the Americans. that would, makes me think that he had some kind of hate for the Americans. and that his wanting to place a wreath at ground zero was not out of kindness and understanding to say i have sympathy for the men who died trying to take out the Americans

i don't think it was poor diplomacy, and i think he just wanted a photo op. but aside from the security nightmare, and extreme cost to the city to protect this guy while placing the wreath, i think it was a wise choice. on the other hand, we could have told him to go for it, but we wouldn't protect him. i'll bet he would not go after all.

He should not be allowed over here, he funds money to the terrorists who kill our soldiers. Yes he guilty as sin, he too is a killer.
