Does this make sense?

"Point Blank's Military version of the Interceptor™ OTV is manufactured for the sole use of the United States Military. Resale of the Military version of the Interceptor™ OTV to persons other than the United States Military is prohibited and subject to legal action."

It makes no sense. Iraqis can own fully automatic military rifles, yet American citizens cannot.....

The key wording here is "military quality" - you can definitely own a bullet-proof vest, even eBay has a ton of those up for sale. I'm assuming the vest you listed is a "higher quality" because the people who will wear it are regularly coming into contact with bullets and it may be able to handle more of them. Hunters, by contrast, aren't normally the ones being shot at (unless you go hunting with Cheney, lol).

The logic is probably that a criminal or terrorist with a military quality bulletproof vest becomes more powerful and more difficult to bring to justice. Whether or not this holds any practical relevance is anyone's guess. And all this goes to prove is that logic is not necessarily allied to reality.

No, it doesn't make sense to us but for other people do.
Everything in this country is bussinees like. If someone gets kill they make more money than selling vests. I know many people think this is crazy but just stop and think about it for a minute. How much a vest can cost? and how many will a regular person buy? But if someone dies, you have to pay for hospital costs to declare someone death, transportation to the morge, funeral services, burial etc etc.

And why do you want to buy a military quality bullet proof vest?

It's a sad world we live in, where sand monkeys walk down city streets with RPGs and Kalishnikov rifles, but we Americans can't own such hardware, or even the best devices to protect ourselves from such things.

no, but then again how many laws are out there that don't make good sense? enough to come up with one every minute for the rest of the day at least.
