We'd find pieces of wood and nailed it across, and then use a rope for steering. Away we went down the hill!!

Growing up in NYC our creativity was using one half of a pair of skates. Break it up in 2 and nail each piece to the the ends of a piece of 2x4. Then we would add a wooden milk crate to the front end of the 2x4. And off we went causing mayhem through the streets of Manhattan. LOL. The milk crate was useful for carrying any empty bottles. We would search for empty bottles to cash in for the 2cents return. At the end of the day a kid could amass a small fortune in candy money.

Yes you can use a steel wheel but it has to fit your car. Same bolt pattern, back spacing, offset, etc. 2002 is old enough to be in junkyards now. Just pick up your local phone book and look in it for auto parts used. Give all of them a call and ask if they have a wheel for 2002 toyota corolla and the price. Im SURE you will find one if not 30 lol. Price will be between $20-50

Not a go kart. It was a "skate box". You take one skate apart. Nail the two parts onto the front and back of a two by four. Then you nail a wooden orange crate (can't find one of those anymore) so the open end of the crate faces towards you while you're standing on the two by four. Add two wooden handles and a paint job of your own choosing and you have a "skate box". They were all the rage in New York City when I was a youngster. I made one for a grandson and all of his friends wanted me to build them one too.

No, but my mommy made a skateboard for me with metal wheels. A go kart sounds likefun. If my grandkids lived closer I would have to go on ebay and get some steel wheels.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/w4Roj
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

Not skate wheels; we preferred either Flexy Flyer wheels or lawnmower wheels for gocarts, the lube them with graphite.

No, but I made a skate board by nailing the front half of the roller-skate to the front of a board and the back half to the back! Our driveway was rather rough and the ride was rather jerky. But, I was very proud of it! That was back in 1963!
