...phenomena is this considered to be? A case of overcompensation? Or simply a cover?
Can you explain the mindset of a person like this?
Do you have any other examples of cases like the one I mentioned?

I just saw an article in my newspaper about a teen affiliated with the volunteer fire department who is being charged with arson. That is what piqued my interest and curiosity on this matter.

Not the first time this has happened.

It may be over compensating - OR it might simply be that he is a volunteer fire fighter that loves the excitement so much that if nothing happens for a while he "makes it happen".

Depends what his first love is - starting them or putting them out I guess.

As for other examples, there was one in the UK a couple of years back - made the national press but might not be easy to track down now without some heavy "googling" sessions.

So mindset options:

Arsonist - who wishes to compensate
Fire fighter - who wants fires to fight
Or other explanations perhaps too - it will be interesting to hear his defence in court if it makes the media.

Unfortunately, they are still called a firefighter and an arsonist. This is not uncommon. There are so many firefighters who commit arson, most people would not believe it. I was once engaged to a firefighter, he had an easy job at a VA hospital in California where he had to put out trash can fires and the like. But he became so bored, he tried testing out to dozens of cities but could not land any other job.
His buddy(a fellow VA firefighter) started a fire in that city, as he knew they would be called for backup. I found this guy to be psychotic after he tackled that fire, and I moved across the country without any of my belongings when I heard him planning to help with another fire.
Sick.Crazy. Mentally unbalanced. That is what I call them.

It makes sense. An arsonist loves fire, loves to watch the flames and devastation. An arsonist/firefighter gets to watch the show from beginning to end. Also gets some inside tips on how they determine if the fire was caused by arson or some other means. And one more added benefit, they get to watch fires that they didnt start.

As a conservative, i think of in the long term. government involvement as an entire over the previous many years have been increasing from Carter to Obama. The president quite has no potential in this, fairly whilst key congressmen consistently get re-elected. This growth of government as an entire has taken remote from from the concepts of our shape and that's what I take a controversy with. We the persons at the instant are not represented the two and if the government keeps attempting to make each physique satisfied, then it quite is inaccurate, only the pursuit of happiness is certain. All else is as much as the guy citizen, a be conscious called autonomy sums it up notably plenty, thank you.

I think they start the fires so they can be a hero type to put it out and look good to the public or whoever they are trying to impress.
