NO WAY!! you have to be on guard for anything to protect yourself and if it looks dangerous even if it isn't it is much safer to check it out. Since she could have caused a fright or scare or some kind of security problem she should be charged since she KNEW it could effect fear and terror in many of all ages...maybe even a heart attack .. Some things just don't make any sence and some people just do STUPID things for attention.. SHE DID!! and deserves to be charged. What if many thought like her..THINK before acting is a good thing to do..if not pay the price for attention!!

I think the reaction was appropriate considering the circumstances. No one was hurt including the young lady who was foolish enough to walk into an airport (which is famous for being the departing site for the 9-11 hijackers )with what appeared to be a bomb. Perhaps if she would have been immediately tasered or shot, then that would have been an overrection.
People frequently quote "Those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither". However, I don't believe that means we have to live in a "WIld West" type of environment with absolutely no expectations of protection from harm. The preamble of the Constitution speaks of insuring domestic tranquility.

I hope that chick gets the worst punishment possible under Massachusetts state law.
She is just another sad commentary on American society and what morons American people have become. We have become a society that has abdicated personal responbsibility and abandoned common sense.
What was she thinking???? Anyone knows that in post-9/11 America (or anytime really) you DO NOT GO TO AN AIRPORT LOOKING LIKE YOU ARE WEARING AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. Not only did she have some stupid circuit board thing strapped to her chest.... she was also holding Play-Doh (which looks like plastic explosive) for good measure. And her defenders are saying she has "Asperger's Syndrome". Sounds more like A**hole Syndrome to me!
There's one college student who could defintely use a tasering!

With the way things are nowadays, people have to take every threat serious. Would you rather them ignore it and it be a real threat and loads of people die? It's not worth the risk.
