Congratulations, you're a winner of a $500 Wal-Mart Gift certificate! This message has been randomly popping-up on various websites, especially those on Yahoo with instructions: To collect your winnings complete the information survey. This is a scam that Wal-Mart has nothing whatsoever to do with. In case you're interested--you are hereby warned: Don't provide any personal information including your email address. Any personal information you provide will be sold to Internet telemarketers and email spammers, shortly after which you could find your email box inundated with 50 - 100 spam emails on a daily basis. And you'll encounter all sorts of circumvention games when it comes to collecting your gift certificate or whatever else is offered in this pure scam. Instead, collect the information and report it to Internet fraud authorities. If enough people flood Wal-Mart and the Internet fraud bureau with enough complaints eventually they'll have no choice but to investigate this scam.
