mine are same as yours, senna/prost, coulthard/hakkinen, schumacher/barrichello.

but i also loved frentzen/trulli (i was a jordan fan when eddie's team was around).

schumi/barrichello and frentzen/trulli in particular were great for me, because they had a great understanding both on and off track, without it having to be confrontational all the time.

my favourite image of schumi and barrichello together was them flying down the paddock together with ruebens on the back of a small scooter that micheal was steering. i didn't always like how micheal got such preferential treatment over ruebens, and got away with doing things like taking his car because he prefered the set up that ruebens went with. but they did have great respect for each other, and they had an understanding that won ferrari plenty of championships. they were a great team.

I would go with Aryton Senna and Alain Prost on any given day. Boy were they fireworks on the track. I still remember how aggressive they would be on the track and when Mr. Senna passed away, Mr. Prost said, "A part of me has died as well". This is what I wanna see in the present generation of drivers like Alonso and Lewis. They are at each others' throats and have no respect for each other - nor on the track, nor off it !

Piquet-Mansell, Senna-Prost, etc etc.

But....

We did have some nice partnerships but they just broke down. I loved Kimi-JPM pairing, it never worked.

Alonso-Lewis is a fantastic pairing but things are just too complicated between them. If only things cool down, they start to respect each other, that combo is unbeatable.

Some low profile pairing, that were none the less exciting...

Heidfeld-Kimi at Sauber was nice too.
Fisichella-Ralf at Jordan Peugeot 1997 (12 top 6 finishes, 12 times top 6 qualifiers, i'm talking about combined efforts where Ralf or Fisi achieved it). Both were new to F1, Jordan had a great season.

i began out staring at formulation One religiously whilst i replaced into 12 and Eddie Irvine signed for Ferrari, so regrettably i haven't any first-hand journey of pre-1996 rivalries. in spite of the undeniable fact that from staring at end of season overview movies and examining books, it particularly is the Alain Prost as against Ayrton Senna conflict which springs to suggestions. i don't think of that formulation One has had this way of heated opposition on account that those 2 greats locked wheels, and it is not in all probability that there ever would be back. Michael Schumacher as against Jacques Villeneuve in 1997 replaced into certainly yet another annoying opposition - as replaced into Schumacher as against Damon Hill through the mid to late 90s - yet neither comes on the area of the Prost/Senna conflict. As I surely have already suggested, it particularly is purely my eleventh season staring at F1 so my understanding is fairly constrained for this query, in spite of the undeniable fact that it particularly is fresh to work out a useful query being asked for a metamorphosis!!

Going back into the dark ages, Fittipaldi and Peterson was one of the most dynamic and exciting partnerships ever. And all in one of the great cars in F1 history, the Lotus 72.
