Last night this guy asked a question about...ok here's the general question without the details: "Why are there so many prunes on this site that report reasonable questions and why are they all American?"

So I answered how I felt about his question and asked him how it was that he knew they were all Americans. Lo and behold, this morning I've found out he blocked me.

Now, this is ONLY MY EXAMPLE. I don't really care that he blocked me. I just wondered why people get so offended at things all the time and when it became so justified to do so.

And please don't leave an answer saying it must bother me because I wrote about it because it really doesn't. I've been wondering this question for awhile now and this is the most recent example I have.

For the person who didn't get it, the question in quotations (using the word prunes) is not my question--it's the question I answered last night.

I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with his question. I was mainly trying to say that he blocked me.

Part of my answer was "You're trying to rile people up, aren't you?" or something to that effect (can't read it exactly because I can't get to the question).

It's easy to be tough behind a keyboard. Some people just want to express their opinion no matter what while ignoring the same right of opinion of other people. Consider it a blessing that he blocked you. It's probably the nicest thing he's done for anyone in a while.

There's no sure way to know where anyone is from actually. I can use the American site and that doesn't necessarily make me an American.

As for the reporting and people being uptight "prunes" business, there's no way to find out WHO reported anyone, as far as I know. It's supposed to be anonymous, right? So if that person thinks they KNOW who reported them, I'd like to know two things (1) how do they know WHO it was (2) how do they know the person is an American?

Obviously it's just an America Hater, and they should go pound sand. As for blocking you, I think they did you a favor. You don't want to deal with anyone that acts like that do you? Now be a dear and block them right back, ok? Okay.

People get so offended because of the morals their parents taught them and the morals they developed. An example would be like when u call someone a Son-of-"a female dog", if a person with a moral of respecting people and especially their family will obviously get offended, but if u take a guy with very low moral, a guy who doesn't really care; he will just ignore you, and not really get offended. Same happens when u ask a certain types of question or when u have a conversation with people, u never know what they might find offensive because u don't know their morals.

You are American right...well I'm sure he knew that and I'm sure he wasn't American, So he was playing on your emotions. He is talking trash about Americans and you are trying to defend them which automatically puts him on the offensive! I'm sure if he thinks Americans are stupid that he doesn't want what he considers a "dumb American" answering his questions! He obviously has control issues, as well as he is racist in a sense! But then again...who isn't! Plus you also have to realize that you can say anything you want to anyone you want with out any repercussions! So naturally people are not going to act the same here as they would in their everyday lives. Most people come here to ***** and it sounds to me that is exactly what he was doing!

Closed minded. I get violations here because some people can't handle my answers. When I get to the truth of the matter they get offended. Hang in there with your beliefs and be honest. You can't go wrong with being truthful. it takes a hundred lies to cover up the first one. I don't have time for that.

Same thing happened to me earlier this week, I'm here to have fun and joke around. If people can't tell when I'm joking then tough. It almost makes you feel obligated to put a little LOL or : ) so your comments aren't mistaken for serious ones. I'm here to make people laugh (most of the time).

God Bless Ya J-Dawn !!!

We American People take things the wrong way, no matter what the situation. how can I explain what I am trying to say.

Its not what we say but how we say it. we mean one thing and the other person takes it the wrong way.

we spend forever trying to justify what we meant, but it's not going to happen because the other person already knows in their head what they decided it's going mean.
there was nothing wrong with the question you answered..
I read it as an logical response.

Us yanks are pretty egotisticall, (somewhat justifiable) but
we also wear our hearts on our sleeves. The least little
thing of a negative nature hurts our feelings, and we
Will get revenge.

It's human nature. everyone is different. there are people who are offended by everything, and they have a right to be that way. You don't have to agree with it, but we can't go around policing people's convictions and morality.

You are spending too much time on losers. Just know the kind of person you want to be and be thankful you are not so picky.
