Give Me Some Tips On Moving?

I am trying to pack everything up but just can't get organized

Start one room at a time
Start with the things that you dont use first
Dont start with photo albums or anything like that coz you will prob get stuck looking at photos. Wait to do that section until you are in the groove of packing
Write what is in the box after you finish packing it and what room it needs to go to simple but important
Put the boxes in a spare room so you dont have to look at them all the time
Throw things that you dont use out as you go so you have less to move.
Clean as you go so you dont have a big cleaning job at the end of packing..

I just recently moved from New York to Alabama. I guess it all depends on how organized of a person you are and how much stuff you need to move and where you are moving.....

However, here's some things that helped me!

1) I bought those totes with lids from my local K-mart, Wally World, etc. It really helped the moving process because every box was the same size...therefore easy to stack. They really aren't all that expensive. They're waterproof and essentially crush proof for the ride in the moving van. And they have many uses beyond moving!

2) Label EVERYTHING. If you get those totes, invest in duct tape and permanent marker. Label what room the box belongs in and what is in the box. This will aid in your unpacking process...especially those first few days when you can't find anything and seem to need everything.

3) Make sure you're careful with packing the moving truck. Keep weight balanced for a smoother and safer ride.

4) Get free labor from your friends. If they're good friends, usually they'll help out if you promise them pizza and beer. :D

I always take one room at a time, start with the things you don't need first, make sure you mark the box with the contents, it makes it easier when you get to the next place, you'll know which room to each box in!! I always do the kitchen last because you almost always need something from there up til the end! Stack all boxes along a wall by the front door!! Break down any furniture, like beds and such that you don't need and set aside!! There is really no easy way to move unless you can afford to pay someone to do it for you!! that ia the hardest job in the world.Moved in May and still have sruff in boxes. Pack the tp last though.

get boxes and put your **** in the boxes and put the full boxes in your car and drive away....with a :) on your face..lol
