I don't know why.
Most Africans can speak one of the languages of one of those countries listed...maybe that is why.
Africa is not irrelevant! What a horrible, bigot.
Good grief Lucky Man....are you really that closed off to the world to think there are 'limited' phones and computers throughout Africa. I happen to live in an African country, I am using a computer to participate on YA that is connected to my DSL connection and hey what do you know, my home phone is ringing right now. Wow so is my cellphone....gotta run.

It is senseless for us to debate this issue. Yahoo and their coordinates would be the only group who would be able to answer this question. What is happening now is, people are giving their 'opinions' and somewhat inciting others here. I appreciate those who are making positive comments - perhaps in some townships there may be reasons that communication such as we have here in AMERICA might be limited, but I'm also here to share that I have made great communicative efforts with Nigeria, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and many other townships and cities inside of Africa.
As Americans, it is essential and most necessary that we learn about the WORLD we live in. Some of us think that NORTH AMERICA is all there is....that is why there is so much confusion and hatred in the world. We have been taught negatively about other countries, or we have not been taught at all. Education and learning about other peoples, other cultures is not dependant upon our schools - now that we have internet and all of the other technological advances, it is up to us to learn the truth about each other through our own research and communication with 'REAL PEOPLE , rather than to rely on what 'we think' or what we have been 'told' and what has been 'passed down' through our own generations about folks. Wake up. Africa is alive and prospering! And just like there are places that are in ignorance, poor, government ruled and oppressed - just look around - so is America and her states.

very good point. If all countries could let the populations talk to each other, it would undermine the political lies.

No money there to pay for it or not enough people with computers to make it worth while.
