Do you get offended when people call you black and not african american? Really its not supposed to be derogatory.... im "white" not italian-english so we have it too.
Some people are offended and idk why.....

Black is NOT offensive Im not sure where you white people got that from..I dont mind being called African American but black would be a lot easier to say..

um the more educated you are, the more offended youll be. im black and i dont necessarily have a problem with ppl calling me black - its just not an actual race. black white pacific islander etc. are politically correct terms created by white people to group certain races together. i see people of AFRICAN DESCENT as black, african american. the person who said black is many races has obviously never opened a book before. ignorance is annoying.
and yes i call white people European American all the time. you are no different and youre sure as hell not Native American.

Why don't the black race just be happy who they are, you are Americans..why not refer to yourself as Americans..forget about the African thing..you people are intelligent, loved by all in sports, dance, art's etc..get rid of the terrible hatred for white people, we are not all that bad..come half way, you might be surprised...we all know your ancestors were slaves..one question, would you go back if you had a chance?

I just prefer black for short, but you can't just call any black person an african-american.. because not all blacks are.

No, not really it doesn't bother me as long as you don't all me something degrading that is another story. But one day I hope we can get to the point by calling each other Americans period.
