i don't really have these cravings...but boy oh boy does my boyfriend have them....he is constantly drooling over the lasted computers or computer components and has to go out and buy the best of everything technological!....I wish I knew why he has these cravings ... I wish I could get him to stop... I mean if you wait a little while the prices go down.... I have a perfectly good computer and he wants to buy me a new Apple computer...and I'm like..."I only go on the internet" You don't need to spend $1400 dollars so I can go online....when I already have one that works just fine?! I don't get it!!!
Maybe they crave it the way women crave the latest fashions...it's something exciting and new and they feel it is somehow an extension of themselves.

I can understand some of the latest technology. Stuff like mp3 players and digital cameras are very useful. Mp3 players are much easier than carrying around a case with every CD you own and having to open up the cd player and fumble with the CD's until you get it in and then run out of batteries after ten minutes of listening. Digital cameras are great because you can see the pictures immediatly after and decide which ones you want printed, instead of developing the whole roll of film only to find that everyone's eyes were closed in like five of the ten pictures. Stuff like iPhones confuse me though. Big deal, it has internet on it. I bet it's difficult to use though.

I don't get it either. I don't understand why people will wait in line all night at a store to get some prized new-fangled gadget like an iPhone or whatever the heck is the latest media-hyped craze. Even the news will report it like it's some kind of earth-shattering event.
I still don't have an ipod. My husband does, but I don't see the big deal about listening to music anywhere anytime. Maybe it's just me being a female. lol

I think it is a domino effect. One person sees their friend with something and they have to get one, so on and so forth. Not to mention that everybody wants the latest and greatest.
