Does Hollywood’s extensive use of computer-generated effects led to a decline in storytelling skills?

I personally think that Hollywood has gotten lazy and doesn't care about doing anything but the easy money gigs. Things like movie remakes of old TV shows that usually destroy the whole concept of the original show.

Or all the movies that depend upon special effects, sex and violence to sell movies. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of actual acting in movies anymore. I actually used to go to the theater alot, but I don't anymore. Hollywierd has really gone down the toilet.

There were plenty of absolutely stink-o movies before CGI imagery was even invented.
