Need to know a couple of things.... In a younger man probably due to drinking too much . I older men can be a sign of prostate gland trouble. If prostate it becomes more difficult to pee, as the urethra is restricted so only a trickle comes out, and the bladder does not empty properly, hence the need to go again soon. Most prostate trouble is a benign swelling of the prostate gland and can be relatively easily resolved. Only very very rarely is it anything more serious. One other thing that can increased thirst and passing water is diabetes. This is easily checked for by means of water or blood sugar level testing. Either way your doctor should be able to diagnose your problem quite quickly after a couple of tests.. Odds are it is nothing too serious.

If you are a guy, as your avatar implies...AND if you are 40+, I'd look into your prostate.
Since you don't mention that it is painful and that it is only at night, I doubt that it is a bladder infection or irritation
If you are a woman, do you notice any correlation to this happening and where you are in your cycle. Sometimes hormonal issues can cause "nocturia" during certain times of the month.

Hello kambodgea,
I know its an obvious answer but you should see your doctor and have the problem investigated.
There could be several reasons for having to urinate so many times at night. Some easily treated some more serious.
I suggest you visit the following websites which will give you more information:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003141.htm
and/or;
http://health.nytimes.com/health/guides/symptoms/urination-excessive-at-night/overview.html
Good luck

Depends on your age and various other reasons, see a doctor is a truism, I doubt it matters drinking liquids close to
bed time!
