im in australia nsw and we only get 5, but if you have digital t.v you get like 4 more.
it sucks we should get more free t.v..we dont get half of the good sitcoms that are in america.. only the big ones

There are 5 terrestrial free channels plus if you have digital another ten to fifteen (depending on the region), if like us you pay for cable but not for any of the additional channels just the most basic package then we have about three hundred but all of them other than the free ones mentioned above and a few others such as More 4 and UK Living they are all rubbish and we only watch the channels you can get for free anyway. We cannot get a TV signal through an aeriel in our area so we are stuck with three hundred or so channels of crap. Oh by the way we are in South East England (Surrey).

In,India we get two.With a digital antenna(which costs 75$),we get around 30 free channels(1 regional channel for each state).Free tv channels here don't show any english programmes(except the news).Almost everyone has paid tv-it costs around 7$ a month at the most.
