Go to a wheelie school, you get proper tuition & the bikes are normally equipped with wheelie bars to stop you from flipping the bike.
Well worth it, the cost of the course is a lot less than the cost of repairing your own bike if you get it wrong!

Do as jed slade said, IF you insist on wheelie-ing. BUT, please...for your own safety and others:
Do not do this on the highway or any public road. Go to some empty industrial park and do it there. Should you crash (and you probably will if its your first time), you wont kill/injure anyone else....cars swerving on highway to avoid a squid doing a wheelie at 65mph...not a good sight. Watching a guy pick pavement gravel out of his palms, not a good sight either. Also, if you are doing this to impress "da chix"...DONT. So many losers try impressing random girls on the roads with wheelies stoppies etc and when they fall, boy do they look stupid. Wear your riding gear, that should be the first thing. Helmet if nothing else, seen some pretty idiotic wheelie accidents on youtube.....

Alibi- Bikes aren't dangerous, they're like guns..... Perfectly safe, it just depends on the ******** who's holding it or riding it
On my CBR I get to 27-9 mph in 1st, roll off the throttle, crack it open then balance it with the throttle upto the limiter...... when you practise enough you can start shifiting into second too....
Or, in second roll on the throttle from about 35-45mph, flick the clutch so the revs rise to about 10-12000, the front comes up nicely & balance with the throttle like with 1st gear wheelies.
Start slowly & get used to the front comming up first then gradually increase everything untill your comfortable with it. PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE. Don't go out trying to nail 'em instantly, it won't happen.
Take no notice of dickheads who obviously don't ride or have any interest in bikes either. Best of luck!!!!

Open the throttle quickly, and flick the clutch in before letting go. Practising this is a good way to damage your bike and injure yourself, but it's your bike and your body.
Alibi doesn't know what he's on about. You can change direction and brake when your front wheel is in the air, but it takes skill and practice to learn how (here's a hint - motorbikes are fitted with brakes on the back wheel too), and again is likely to hurt and cost money while learning. MOTORBIKES ARE NOT DANGEROUS. They are vulnerable, and less forgiving of mistakes. A motorbike can only do what its rider makes it do - it's people who are dangerous.

good luck kid im still learning on my CBR6................ (hide the f) i mastered stoppie but wheelie is proving to be a bit harder lol i can get the front light but it wont stay up ill get there in the end.I got stoppie to a T i can do one handed stoppie now (so not only i can scare people at zebra crossings i can swear at em at the same time..... only kidding)
next trick for ya is knee down if you havnt mastered that already i sh*t misen the first time i did it, its sooooo loud!! i should have got leather sliders instead of plastic sparkers lol

on my bike ..a Bandit 1200...I go 20-25 MPH in 1st gear ...pulll the clitch in and reve it to 5-6000 then drop the clutch and the front lifts...the revse necassary will depend on you bike you will probablyneed more with your smaller enginme...but that is a good place to start ...each new try ad a few hundred reves..if the front rises too hig ..shut off the throttle..oand/or hit the rear brake //

Let the clutch out too quickly - works for any motorbike.
