I was just wondering, and how do they get them to stay there?

there is a little hook embedded in a metal base on which the gem is set.this hook is on the under side of the bem. a black twine like soft thread works its way thru the hook and acts like tie back laces which goes over the ears and knotted at the nape of ur neck under the hair .it looks as if the gems is jus staying by itself.
