Heavy Metal has been re-defined over the years. What was once Metal is now thought of as pop. I remember when Bryan Adams was regally featured in Kerrang!
Back in the late 70's, 80's and 90's I was really into Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and Extreme.
Now it's the Rollins Band but even Henry Rollins is old school.

Metallica was my favorite in the 80's. But, when grunge came out I was swept up like so many others. So, I guess I'd have to ask does Pearl Jam count?

I don't listen to heavy metal, only to bands such as Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and stuff.
