I live in Washington state. A few years ago I got a ticket for harrassment. This was in the state of Montana. I never appeared on it but I wrote a letter to the judge and asked to just pay the fine. She said Ihad to appear. I never appeared and now I have an outstanding warrent for my arrest in Montana. What is the worse thing that could happen?

You could get arrested and cited for contempt of court. Talk to a criminal defense attorney. You should clear your record. Otherwise the warrant will be hanging over your head forever.

The worst thing is probably that you worry about it forever. Just go and answer. You'll have to pay a fine and probably have probation, to be sure you don't harrass anyone in Montana again. Which shouldn't be hard, since you are in Washington! Just go answer it .

if you get stopped, they will find out that you have a warrant. if Montana wants to extradite you, you will be arrested and transported to Montana. if not, then you will deal with the situation through the local courts.

just fix the problem. takes care of all the worry.

You will have a misdemeanor charge for failure to appear in Montana. They won't extradite you for that but whenever you get pulled over they will be able to see that in Washington and will inform you of it.

Your warrant will stay on file. If you get pulled over in Montana, they will take you to jail. If you get pulled over in Washington, they will inform you that you have a warrant in Montana. You will smile and nod, and go about your day.
