In the state of Michigan if a person is over 18 and still living with their parents and are told to move out, do the regular landlord tenant laws apply such as a 30 day written eviction notice?

yes, landlord/tenant laws would apply. In Michigan, as long as the person has resided at an address for at least 30 days, it is considered their residence and your friends family cannot just throw them out on the street whether there is rent involved or not. I had to evict my sister from my home a few years back. now, if there is any kind of domestic issues or violence involved then the person can be forced to leave immediately, but no, your friend cannot be thrown out just like that.

Do you have paid rent receipts? If not, you cannot establish such a relationship.
