King George the Fifth (the present Queens' grandfather) died in 1936. He was slowly dying one evening, so just before midnight, his doctor gave him a lethal injection of morphine and cocaine to kill him instantly. This was done so that the death could be reported in the early edition of the next day's papers, rather than the less important afternoon edition.

Well, Charles I was beheaded as a result of his overthrow by Oliver Cromwell . . . I'd say that's unusual. He died on 30 January 1649.
Also, George III died of porphyria, which wasn't nice, and not at all his fault. He died on 29 January 1820.

The only thing that would surprise the British public about the death of a king would be if it was discovered he had passed over during a natural sex act with his wife to whom he had been totally faithful.

To the first answerer it was king Edward II and it was in 1327.
This has not been confirmed, but it certainly makes for an interesting story.

I hat to admit it, but... I have actually no idea about the Kings and Queens of England.
I could not understand my history teacher, I think she had some kind of speech to brain problem. So I gave up history.
Now it's history.
