You can get bleach and a bottle of developer from a beauty supply store. If you are planning on doing her whole head of hair you will want to get more than one bottle of developer.

The best way to go about bleaching the whole head is to saturate the hair all the way down to the ends and make sure that you let the hair breathe.

If her hair is virgin (never processed) it should not take too long for the bleach to work.

Always keep a spray bottle on hand with water in it, (Water stops the action of bleach).

So if a section starts to get about the color you want it to be you can spray it and wipe it with an old towel. (the bleach will also bleach fabrics).

Once the whole head of hair is the desired color which should be close to the shade that she wants to color it, you can add the color in. I would recommend definitely using some intense conditioner in between and after the coloring has processed.

With bleaching, it is important to check the progress of the hair every 5 minutes. If hair becomes over processed it can crack and begin to fall out. Breakage is usually what you see on people with bad bleach and color jobs. (the little fuzzy hairs sticking up a few inches from their scalp).

Remember: It's better to under process the hair and bleach twice than it is to over process.

Is she doing her whole head? you may not need to bleach it but I don't know what she looks like. Go to a beauty supply/salon store and by that I don't mean Sallys. You need to talk to a professional who knows what's up. Don't bleach if you don't need to.
