You may I've heard this before, but it DOES work...
Stop trying so hard!
Up until I was about 29, I was lonely and desperate. As much as one tries not to show it, desperation comes through and is a guaranteed turn off for any decent woman.
Shortly after I 'gave up' and resigned myself to the idea that I was doomed to eternal bachelorhood, I met and befriended a very special young lady who shared many of my interest.
We've now been married for 10 years.
Just relax and let it happen.

Tell yourself that you are a great guy/girl (only if you are), take a deep breath and approach a woman. Say hi and introduce yourself, better come up with some topics beforehand but if you are a party - you can start with are you enjoying yourself? what do you do? etc something simply. And don't sweat - very, very bad. So wipe your hands, maintain eye contact (no shifty eyes) and smile :)
