Contact the US Embassy - they are tightening the rules all the time - apply to the Police for a letter showing your record and this should state when the caution is "spent" - I think you may be OK after 4 years but as you did not state what the caution was for - if it was related to drugs, guns etc you will not be allowed.
You will find all the info on the US Embassy website but whatever you do make sure you check into this and do not lie on the forms (they will find out !) before you book a flight or you could find yourself arriving say in Florida and then sent on the next plane home !

The easiest way is to apply for a visitors visa, be prepared to provide a police check certificate and get copies of all records of your caution from the police. At your visa interview answer questions honestly and you should be fine.

You need to get a visa in those circumstances, but it should be approved, provided the caution was not for a drug offense. It might be approved anyways even if it was a minor drug offense 4 years ago.

You dont need a Visa as a Tourist on a visit.The US operate a Visa waiver scheme.Simple and easy enjoy.
