Jerry would do at least as good as Don Cockell, Roland LaStarza I, and hang very tough all the way. The problem is Rocky would be invulnerable to any kind of KO situation except for cuts, and in absolutely rock hard shape and extreme inhuman endurance from running 10 plus miles a day.
Jerry would be taller and heavier and had both hands.
The thing is Joe Walcott was a far superior athlete to Jerry and punched much harder and sharper with the right hand that leveled Joe Louis in two fights and the left hook which dropped Marciano and Ezzard Charles.
It is the very unorthodox size, weaving and helacious body attack that would present nightmares here, with the Suzy Q landing like it did against Rex Layne. There is a limit of what any man can take in punishment and Jerry came to war with anyone of any size. Quarry was just an amazing fighter to me, the epitome of courage and heavy hands. Jerry's mindset would make any Irishman proud forever. Totally fearless he faced giants eyeball to eyeball and never blinked. The way Jerry stood up to Ron Lyle, it is only the Frazier's and Ali's who stood in his way.
Jerry and Rocky would be the best of pals before and after the fight and would sell out any arena. Jerry would be toe to toe with the Rock in this gruelling contest. The only thing is Jerry like all of us humans could be hurt to the body and he wasn't as strong as Marciano in that area, as Joe Frazier dropped Jerry with a wallop to the guts. Chuvalo dropped Jerry with a left hook to the temple and it had him very disoriented. When you are down for 10 and willingly remain there while the ref is screaming 8, 9, and 10 in your face, something isn't right.
I see Marciano swarming Quarry and landing bombs anywhere and everywehere as always. Rocky KO's Quarry with the Suzy Q in round 8.
Thanks for the question.

Rocky Marciano would win this maybe even by knockout. He is a league above Quarry. Rocky would outlast Quarry with superior stamina and conditioning. Yes Quarry was good but he also had a habit of fighting the opponents fight.

regrettably for Quarry he decrease, so however if he would desire to stand up to Marciano's tension he might in all probability have the combat stopped on cuts. Quarry replaced right into a variety of fellows that would have been a international champion if he had come alongside in the time of a different era, yet i don't think of he would desire to triumph over Rocky.

I believe this would have been a lot like the Frazier vs Quarry fights and that Jerry would have been courageous but Marciano would have been too strong and punched much too hard for him. A fierce battle while it lasts but Marciano would pound him into submission in about 7 rounds.

Good one Paulie, although I see it a little different. I actually see Quarry dropping Marciano with a surprise counter due to Marciano's lack in defense. Quarry as most will over look was a very decent counter puncher who had a very stiff defence. Always looking to slide the punch and counter, he did it extremely well against Ron Lyle. You can't just over look the facts here, Quarry was fighting very big men much bigger than any of the man Marciano had faced in his time. Quarry was taking bombs left and right to the chin but never went down, you know why? Quarry goes down from a flurry of punches or punches that he doesn't see coming. Marciano is a one punch artist in terms of throwing at a time. He is very predictable but did contain power. Most of his opponents were naturally smaller than him and had to gain weight just to compete now last time I checked that really affects a fighter and how they fight. Marciano was great but wasn't tested to prove it wasn't just smoke and mirrors. I see Quarry knocking Marciano down in the third round as Quarry will figure him out and counter very well. Marciano will get up of course because this is where the heart plays out. By the 5 round Marciano has set a tempo and Quarry is going along with it, I see this fight going into the later rounds with the middle rounds being very sluggish and boring, into the 11th round this is when Quarry will start to show the famous drop of the hands, he will tire out from the constant attack of Marciano and if Marciano plays it smart he lands Blockbuster right in the face of Quarry and gains his respect. I'm sorry but honestly I can't see Marciano really hurting Quarry because of his size and gaining weight for Marciano isn't going to do him any good. However, I do see him coming out with the decision as he will take Quarry all the way and show he is the active fighter still throwing and pressing.
Marciano by decision 15rounds.

paulie hit it on the button. quarry was better than layne and cockell and they both gave the rock a hard time. i see quarry landing at will, but just like in frazier fight he will be outgunned eventually by great fighter. quarry was very good, but the rock was all time great. marciano tko rd 11.
