He has killed under orders of a christian. He didn't want to kill. He didn't agree with the war. By your beliefs, is he a sinner? Would he get into your heaven?

The question is hypothetical.

Old Know All: I am an Atheist. I have not rejected god. I can not reject something that has never existed. I have only rejected the beliefs of others.

Andy: The soldier might not have signed up. Freedom of choice hasn't always been available.

We're all sinners. The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ.

If you were an atheist, you would not have asked such a silly question, as there is no heaven or hell?

However, I would like to be an observer on the proverbial judgement day - I would sit in the old city of Jerusalem, on the wall just up from thee dome of the rock, in the Arab Quarter. from the old wall I would have a great view of the deep valley outside the holy mount.

Islamic tradition has it that on that day, the faithful will be judged by having to walk across a chain over the Kidron valley, with the weight of sin in their hearts in one hand, and the weight of good they have done to others in the other hand.

coming the other way, will be all the Jews, trying to cross the same chain to get back into the holy city. It is far better then any Terry Pratchett book could invent :0)

Whilst working in an Arab Library in 1993-4 I lived in a rented flat in the Armenian Quarter, I used to eat at Michaels bar, and an old American chap lived in Rush Alices hoistle, who believed the world would end in 1999, he had spent 20 years making up his theory, and was spending his life savings to be ready t observe the battle at Megion,

In the hostle down the road, was a Canadian fool who had a different date, 2001, and the same sill lists of data. I decided after being bored for the 100th time by this American bloke, that he needed to meet the Canadian chap- talk to somebody who gave a damn about his theories... the argument lasted for four days, and ended with a punch-up - they were both 70 plus, it was crazy.

If the soldier had heard the gospel of Jesus and rejected it then he would not go to heaven. It wouldn't really matter if his superior was a Christian or not, his superior was under orders too, possibly by an atheist. He wouldn't have looked around for someone who wasn't a Christian. What you are suggesting is that Christians officers send non-Christians into a death situations for the fun of it. We are talking about the Army here, religion is irrelivent. When you sign up you know you may die early, that's the nature of the job.......I can't believe some of the questions some people ask.

I am an athiest, he is an athiest, there is no god and no such thing as 'a sin'.

And the religion of the person giving the orders would be irrellevant because they would not religion decision, they would be based on the job.

If you are a christian, then how do you accept another christian kiiling when it is one of the fundemental parts of your religion?
It is one of commandments, your god will not allow you to do this and right now 'christian' soldiers are in iraq killing.
He didn't say 'you can't kill, oh, unless your a soldier, or a pilot, etc'.

Shouldn't everyone who kiils in the forces be banned from the church?
Oh i forgot, we're ALL equal in th eyes of the Lord!

Christianity and many other religions are full of complete hypocracy and contradictions.

We all have an opportunity to accept or reject God. This is the condition on which we can expect to be judged when we die. Whether death is the result of war, disease, old age or accident is not relevant.

Now what do you mean by Atheist. If you mean someone who has rejected God, you've answered your own question. If you mean someone who hasn't bothered to give it much thought but just went along with the fashion of the day, I can't look into the mind of God to see how such a man would be judged.

This 'unknown' soldier will not be judged for murders committed while serving in the military, following orders of his Commander in Chief. Remember God set up governments to lead and denfend our freedoms.

This 'unknown" atheist was born into this world as a sinner. His destination, heaven or hell, will be determinded by his choices made during his lifetime. If he chose Jesus as his Lord and Savior, then he will go to heaven. If he did not choose Jesus, then he will go to hell and eventually to the eternal lake of fire with memories of his life on earth.

Hope this helps answer your questions.

there is no heaven and to an athesist expecially no expectation of heaven . As a soldier he followed orders and that would most likely be considered honorable by most people . Sin is subjective according to religious belief and heaven is only a figment of the imagination to sooth the questioning soul of his uncertainties and promise ever lasting life even if it does not exist . Basically the soldier died period .the end . you think far too much for far too little .

I believe that he could protest against killing (he had a choice) thus is a sinner.

However, assuming that he had no choice, he would not be a sinner.

Yet he would not go to heaven, as Jesus says that, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) He will not go to heaven regardless of whether he sinned or not, but whether he believed in Jesus Christ being his saviour or not.

However a person dies, for whatever reason, If this God person is so narcissistic and lodged so far up his own huge godly rectum that he would only allow those who worship him to be allowed into heaven, would you really want to go to that heaven? Not me.

The way I see it is that even if God does exist, he can't be that great when his own inferior creations develop morals that are far superior to his.

As I always say, by Christians standards, heaven would be full of rapists paedophiles and murderers who repented and asked forgiveness and hell is full of decent moral folk whose only crime was asking questions.

I know whose company I'd rather be in.

Into my idea of what heaven is, yes. Anyone would who has not done the evil of people like Jeffery Dauhmer or Ted Bundy. IMO it would take a lot more than non-belief to keep you from moving forward in the after-life.

Human beings can only do what they can do. If they can't believe then they can't. I think God knows and understands that. I don't believe that there are a lot of people who wouldn't deserve to continue in some sort of existence after death.
