they say that god loves everyone, but then go around telling people that they are going to burn in hell for being themselves. doesn't the bible say somewhere that you have to be good to others? (i'm an atheist.... don't go bashing my abilities to quote from th bible.) and what the hell do they have against gay people? it is 1, natural, 2, incurable, since there is nothing wrong, 3, it was encouraged and seen as a good thing not to long ago, 4, im gay and everyone thinks im straight, so that rules out the gay stereo-types that magically apply to all gay people. why do people wrap themselves in the narrow mindedness of religion? hell, the reason im an atheist is because i read some of the bible and almost passed out from laughing. religion is what needs to be cured...

Mr. Eko, how many atheists have said that they are about tolerance and open mindedness? all atheism is about is not believing in god or religion.

D.A. S, if god created us with free will, then he/she/it can't be all powerfull/knowing because why would he/she/it create somthing that had "free will" so that they could "chose" to be gay and therefor burn in the fiery pits of hell for all eternity.

OMFG! I read some of your responses that you got and darn near died laughing! Many of them just proved your point by attempting trying to deny it!
My take on the whole thing, shug, is that you would have to be a hypocrit or at least VERY deluded to try to force an agreement between a book of inanities and a reality that shows no support of the self-contradicting claims contained therein! When centuries-old fantasy decides you're morals and values concerning how you treat others, weird gets weirder.
But I have met christians who I've found to be not only intelligent, but sincere and wise and downright outstanding individuals! In fact my best friend since junior high, who is still my best friend, is a heterosexual Baptist Christian--go figure!
But I digress, for even though he does accept much of what he finds in the bible, he believes implicitly that the highest law is "love one another", so he really takes the teachings of J.C. to heart, rather than the more murderous apostle Paul's letters to the various churches (in fact my friend has just quit church entirely, owing to the hypocrisy that he has met with in church so many times).
But I very much agree with you about the whole "you're gonna burn in Hell" business--ridiculous!! (What's even worse is when they haul off and call you "brother", when you know that they would rather tell you just how much they hate you for not agreeing with them!
Whatever you do, don't let 'em getcha too angry, Max--a sense of outrage is admirable--especially in someone so young like yourself (it shows that you are of the opinnion that fairness and decency should be part of the "bigger picture")! But don't let yourself feel bitterness towards all of them--as I have found, you CAN have a friend who diagrees entirely with you on a philosophical level, but who on a more personal level can almost always "see where your coming from"!
Don't ever get so mad that you quit seeing all the good things (and people) around you! Just be a little judicious about what you expect to "get from" dialogue with them and set yourself up to expect a little confrontation--but still try to see whose on the other side of those words, and if you think that further conversation with them is friutless, then just walk away!

Yep, its a problem, all people judge, and thats one of the things that the bible cautions against. It is the duty of God to judge men. However, they get around the little 'judgement' impasse by arguing that they are trying to save you by setting you on the right path, not judging you... goodness no. As far as your Gay argument, I am inclined to agree that it is natural, though not "incurable" I mean you could probably control the sexuality of a person if you really wanted to, but I certainly don't want to be gay, so I imagine you certainly don't want to be forced to turn straight. There is some evidence that with some chemicals that could be used to turn gay people straight and the opposite would also be true, however they miss the point most gays would probably not want to be "fixed."

Speaking of stereo-types......
Who exactly are 'they', the wizards?
Has every Christiain on the planet told someone they're going to hell, has every Christian bashed a gay guy. No,
You are basing your entire view on the actions of a minority.
Heres a question, why are atheists so hypocritical, They claim to be all about tolerance and open mindedness but they are always mocking the beliefs of others and trying to force their views on everyone else.

Why, you got the "I can't spell virus too?"
Anyway, I don't see the problem being gay, it is either by birth, or by choice. Some were born with gay tendencies, some become gay because of things happening to them.
Oh, yes, the christians part. I don't know why they are hypocritical. Some are not, obviously, some are very. However, just like people who are not christians, it is up to the individual.

I dont know many Christians who do that.
Christians stand against sin of all kind. The fact is people are lying to gays and telling them its alright to engage in immorality. Its not alright for gays or straights to be immoral.
Your argument that "it's natural" is completely irrelevant. Violence, hate, lying, intolerance, laziness, and tons of other bad behavior is natural as well. Simply because something is natural doesn't make it right. And the argument misses the point of the Gospel.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is based on the fact that people arent perfect. We have natural tendencies to do evil things. But that doesnt mean we are to be cast off. We are sons and daughters of God. So God has loved us enough to send us His Son Jesus Christ. That through Him we may become more like God. Through Him our very nature can be changed.
Life was designed for us to have struggles we have to overcome. We are going to be prone to naturally do things that are wrong. Everyone has to deal with that. But the point of life isnt to give into those natural urges but to change them. To become a new person. And its possible because of Jesus Christ.
You accuse people who you dont know of narrowmindedness. Why? Because we disagree with you? If there is some bigger reason then we are clearly doing something wrong. But does that justify what you do and think? Why do you have such a desire to indentify who you are by who you want to have sex with? Of all the things we are and can be while center your indentity around sex?

Ugh, it's very hard to understand you. So i'm only going to answer your "bolt" question.
I'm sorry you feel that way. But we Christian only ordinary human, not a superman.
It is your choice to be an atheist & gay, i'm not going to say anything to make you change your mind or else, for we ourself will take responsibility for our own descision.
I'm not an anti-homosexual nor anti-atheist, i think human being can't simply judge by those stereotype (include your words : christian = hypocrite, hahaha).
Once again, they only human. Just forgive their stupidity and ignore them.

Christians are not hypocrites just because you don't believe what they believe. You’re an atheists, stick to your guns.
By your own admission you have read 'some of the Bible.' Well Christians have read the whole Bible and have studied the whole Bible and believe in what the Bible says.
God does love everyone. He gave each of us 'free will' to choose to be good and do the right thing. If you choose not to do the right thing, then it is a consequence that you have to live with. If you are separated from God when Jesus comes back, then you will not be going with Him into heaven. That leaves only hell and the lake of fire for eternity with memories of 'your good life' when you had a choice.
Christians are being good to you when they tell you the truth. It is not our fault you have chosen not to hear the Word of God. You are blaming your crap and your mistakes on others. You are the one that does not love others. You can't even love yourself.
Being gay is not natural; it is an abomination to God. Being gay is curable. All you have to do is ask for God's forgiveness and then His help. Don't know when it was encouraged by anybody other than left wing liberal democrats who only want your vote (not your lifestyle). You are being used in the world of politics. Why don't you hate them? It does not matter if I can tell you are gay or straight. It matters what is going on between you and God. He created you and knows everything about you in the here and now and in the future. He does not want you to perish or go to hell, which He created for Satan and his demons and fallen angels. People have chosen hell because they have turned their back on God ( gay or straight).
Christianity is not a narrow-minded belief system. It is, however, a narrow walk. Many are called, few are chosen.
I pray that you allow yourself some open-minded space for God to show you His love and His 'wanting' for your salvation. Trust me, it is better to have His love than the world's evil. Go in peace knowing that God loves you and that I love you. All you have to do is repent.
There is no sin so large that God is not willing, and able, to forgive us of it when we truly turn to Him in repentance, desiring His forgiveness.
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

God is good, it is the christians that are causing all this problems on earth.
I agreed that there are christians out there who feels that they are really righteous and goes around judging people as if they have the right to do so.
But we should not forget about God and His love for us,
we should not forsake Him because of hurts people give us.

The bible's pretty hilarious isn't it?
Idk what their problem with ppl being gay is, they can be so irrational sometimes.
Even when you show them websites about documented gay animals, they refuse to acknowledge that it is in fact a part of nature.
They desire to have a "holy" image and say anything to make other ppl/other christians believe it. Well, no one's perfect and eventually they make hypocrites out of themselves.
