They seem to. Like theres a passage where it says "Judge ye lest ye be judged' or something like that. Yet, some Christians still feel the need to judge others' bad behaviour.

Something tells me many religions don't follow their own version of the bible too closely. If the message was one of love and forgiveness, then I think we are all failing, Christians, Jews, Muslims et al.

Also think alot of confusion on cherry picking comes from the differences between the old testament and the new.

Yes, I do think they really do. Most Christians, if not all, don't even read the Old Testament, only the New Testament when Jesus walked amongst men. Why? God supposedly laid down the rules in the Old testament so why do Christians choose not to live by the old testament rules? Yes, I believe many certainly choose to follow what is convenient for them.

This is a fair question, and deserves a fair answer. I would say, at first glance it appears that they are picking and choosing; however, if you read the writings of liberal christians they are usually [not always] using the god-given gift of reason. How? By understanding that everything has a context. They are in good company. E.g. St. Paul said that all foods are clean, including pork. Thus, he understood that the Jewish prohibition on pork had a certain context. If you read the Gospels you will see that Jesus also understood Jewish customs in context and reinterpreted them. Of course, our intellects can be dangerous too; but like all gifts from God, we must use them carefully and prayerfully so that we do not fall into error.

Yes, many Christians do that, and that is why I was almost molested by a respected member of our old church. They forgot to be diserning. If a guy has a past of molesting thirteen year olds, don't let him go around and do stuff for the kids. So yes, some do, but others, like many in our new church, don't. We're all human, and some have more trouble than others do, so i can't really hold a grudge. More like pity... I suppose.

Some do.
Look at what the scriptures ask for.
(Matthew 28:18-20) And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

WHO gave Jesus this authority?

It was his Father in heaven, Jehovah God. [ Exodus 6;3] the same one who spoke out of heaven when Jesus was baptised [ Mark 9;7]
WHAT was to be preached?
The Kingdom...Matthew 6; 9,10
How extensive was the preaching to be?
Matthew 24;14
HOW were people to be contacted?
Acts 5;42 and 20;20

Now put every religious group that calls themselves Christian and see who are complying.

it says a lot of things in the bible, like gay men should be put to death. krap like that makes everybody question it. I read the bible myself bost mostly the new testes ment and proverbs and psalms but I have read more of it and I still like it and all it has helped me but ultimately you have to "cherry pick" evrything in life.

if thats what the people are called, then yeah, i guess so. but many people do this even though they aren't christians just so they can look better. many people think that the bible contrdicts itself so they feel it nessacary to use only parts so they themselves don't seem wrong.

Yes, they most assuredly do pick and choose when it's appropriate for them.
