If so, then why do I see so many Christians on here who are so nasty and downright rude while trying to "spread the word". And I'm not refering to all because I know not all Christians are like this! My best friend is Christian and I love her to death so don't get the wrong idea!! But I notice many who are just plain mean while trying to tell the Atheists (their chosen prey, in my eyes) that they should convert or else. Someone that comes to mind right now that does this often is Homeland Security. Every answer that he/she gives is just rude and ignorant. But of course, I guess these people are RIGHT and they KNOW for a fact that everything they say is TRUE.

Homeland Security: I never said that your answers are your opinions. But "word of god" or not, they are rude. And if these things you say come straight from god himself, then I surely don't want any part of him because he sounds like a jerk.

Delsydebothom: If you look at any of my previous answers to other questions, you'll notice that I don't assume that I'm RIGHT. I don't assume that I know the TRUTH. I believe what I believe and that's it. I have NEVER claimed to be right. If anything, I have said on multiple occasions that maybe I am wrong, but I'm okay with that. Do some research before YOU critisize.

Just for the record, I'm not saying that Atheists are perfect and never say a cross word to anybody. I'm not blind or stupid. I know there are many atheists out there who are rude and ignorant and hostile and everything else, just like I know there are nice, pleasant, wonderful, peaceful Christians. Like I said, my best friend is Christian so it's not like I have anything against them. I'm talking about the ones who DO act this way while they're trying to spread the word about how wonderful god and Christianity are. Seems kinda hypocritical to me is all.

Yes that is true. Problem is we are also human and the last I knew so were Atheists, Jews, Muslims and any other religion. So, I guess what you could say is that is supposed to be the bar we are after but we don't make it whether it be Christian or not.
So any time someone is rude and nasty and ignorant it really doesn't matter what religion they are. Ive seen the same coming from Atheists too. Guess we are all in the same sad shape.

Many Christians feel that it is their obligation to lead others to "Salvation through Christ." To put things in perspective, if you were convinced that 2+2=4 and everyone around you was saying 2+2=5 wouldn't you be compelled to tell people that they are wrong for their own sake. Just image how many bills these people would overpay.
These Christians believe that they are leading you to salvation and they absolutely believe that they know how to do it. They don't care if they offend you because the ends justify their means.
As for religion, Socrates said it best when he said, "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."

that's very true. for people who have read the bible repeatedly, they manage to somehow block out everything that says to love one another. it's really weird. it makes me angry at times when they talk their talk and become hypocrites. and the christians I know are very close-minded. they see a picture of a painting that doesn't look 'normal' and they immediately conclude that it is satanic, so is KISS, dog the bounty hunter, the crucifix (WITH J.C. on it!), an alien pen (go figure), the Joker from batman!!!! C'mon!! Pokemon?!!!!!!!! seriously, some christians don't have ANYTHING to do!! thank god my family are catholics!!! i'm an atheist myself and I think the whole religion thing is cool, kinda' like the lord of the rings. but i don't pressure people into NOT believing, or to show me some proof of A god... christians need to lighten up... actually ALL religions need to lighten up.

I find that when I judge others my judgments apply to me. I hear arrogant people (I say it without judgment because I still love them and I don't say it to correct them) accuse others of arrogance. Liars accuse others of lying. I had a boss that was convinced I was a substance abuser who was arrested for crack. No one is nastier to smokers than ex-smokers. One should use the way people judge as an indicator of their motivations. The rule even applies to groups. The Republicans accuse the Democrats of spending when they are the ones with the incredible deficits, the Democrats accuse the Republicans of moral superiority but have political correctness. The list goes on and on.
It makes one wonder about those obsessed with condemning homosexuals. From a spiritual view it would be like knowing people over eat, you can choose not to for yourself but don't be meddlesome. You don't know the cross another person must bear.
Love one another as I have loved you.

Of course. There are many people here impersonating other religious peoples merely to make them look bad. It happens with every religion. As to this Homeland Security person, the answer they gave here looks fine. People can be very stubborn, it doesn't mean they are rude.

Well everyone is supposed to be 'tolerant and loving towards others' not just Christians. I have seen atheists who have been intolerant and unloving, I have seen Muslims (I am Muslim myself) be intolerant and unloving and there are people of all groups and faiths that are like that. Anyway, so far i have only seen a few atheists who have been respectful to other peoples beliefs without the intention to offend anyone.

Very much so. That is why, when a true Christian sees that someone is living a life that displeases God, they feel it is a lifesaving work to warn him/her that to continue will result in PERMANENT DEATH. NO RESURRECTION.
(2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.
No one can force a person to change. But to let them know God's standards may convince the wayward one to look to their own behaviour and change themselves.
Its not all that different from obeying traffic rules.
If you continue to speed or drive careless, eventually you will either kill yourself or some other innocent party.
If you obey the rules, you can go through life with no trauma.

Aye unfortunatly even christians like myself (surprise not perfect) fall into the same problems and arrogance and stuff as anyone else. There are many bigots.....on every side. But from the christian standpoint you mean yes there are.....many in the world but you have to keep in mind they are the same thing they are trying to tell you is bad a sinner who is worthless without God. Athiests hey....ill tell them about God if they want to know im sure they have heard of God by now...thats my job spread the word but dont force it or its meaningless. Its not my place to say who goes to hell and who doesent.....thats Gods mine is to not go there and maybe help a few souls along the way.

If you look at the history of Christians as a whole you will note that they are a bloodthirsty, hippocritical, powerhungry lot who think that they can do anything they want, say a few hail marys and it's all good. They believe that they get one shot at eternity so they don't care who or what they damage as long as God forgives them they don't have to take responsibility for what they do.
