I'm looking to transfer school for the Spring semester. Will my financial aid i've been approved for my current school be carried over to my new school since the cost is about the same, or will i have to go through the application process again?

You will have to do everything again. I would immediately go to fafsa.ed.gov and add the school you are planning on going to to the list. It will take about two months to process, this way you can guarantee it will be ready when you are ready to attend. Since the school costs about the same, don't expect a dramatic change in your financial aid package.

The Pell Grant should carry over to the new school. However, your entire need based scholarship package could change in composition because of a difference in their endowment fund. Your best choice is talking to both FAFSA and the new school now instead of waiting until you transfer. Good luck!

I work for a student loan company. You funding will not transfer. 1st thing you will want to do is add the new school to your FAFSA form. 2nd cancel any remaining disbursement for student loans that are set up to go to the old school. 3rd apply for the new school. Your FAO or student loan company will help you.
