I believe that according to Isaiah Chapter 53, Jesus Christ personally bore my sin and sickness in His own body upon the cross at Golgotha, so that by faith in His self sacrifice I can be free from sin and sickness.

Those pastors should shut up and choose a different line of work.. They give God a bad name.

God doesn't send calamities. He does allow bad things to happen, though. I think it was Solomon that said that the rain falls on the good and bad alike., but I'm not sure where the verse is.
Of course, there are many bad things that happen as a result of our own bad choices. But after they happen, we whine and ask why, when we really know fully well why.

Those pastors know nothing of God.
The rain falls on the sinner and the righteous.

We give ourselves these problems by our judgments and choices. The details would take hours to explain but when you understand it'll all be clear. You judge yourself, you create your circumstances, and in the end you determine the worth of your own existence.

I've known cancer victims that used their disease to become far more spiritual or far less. It's up to the individual and how they take it is their business. To think you know why a person suffered a disease or problem is total arrogance.

I knew a couple of children that received tainted blood and died of AIDS back in the 80's. One was crying because Pat Roberson was on TV explaining how AIDS was a punishment from God. The disease isn't the disgrace, the attitude about it and the harm created by the words of the person pronouncing judgment is.

Absolutely not. Jesus is a healer- by the stripes on his back- we are healed, as was foretold in the book of Isaiah and in the new testament. Sin can open the door - or hedge of protection to the enemy - or devil - who comes to rob, kill and destroy. Christians need to be mindful that there is a devil who wants to totally destroy them....when Christians speak words like, I am going to die young, I always get the flu, they get what they say - the bible says- death and life are in the power of the tongue....let's remember that we really are a spiritual being, God's creation, and when someone is born again, their words have power behind them. Also, Christians should not be in the devil's playground- going to places like foretune tellers etc - going to that kind of place can open a door to calamities....Pastors sometimes don't really totally know what goes on in someone's life, they preach out of what they see, and if someone they know who was at church all the time has a tragedy, they sometimes blame it on God. Never true....Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly. He says ...with long life I will satisfy you.

Well honey they'e wrong. Sin brings death.God Never brings sickness & diseases to people,Ever. Remember In the Book of Job when satan(the accuser of the brethern) came before God and told God that Job would curse Him If he (Job) were to be afficted ? satan asked God to remove the hedge of protection so that he(satan) could bring his evil destructive plans to Job. Key Verse : The thing that Job feared the most had come upon him. Get It. Job had the spirit of Fear. Even though Job lost everything he still loved God. Infact Job said even though He(God) slay me yet will I worship Him. Fear tells God that your problem Is bigger than Him. The fearfull will have their part In the lake of fire. Now God does send certain calamities to places that need cleansing, because of Idolatry.God Is a God of love, grace & mercy. But He Is also a God of Judgement too !

That would totally contridict what the word of God says. The whole theme of the Bible is about God's love for us and how he wants to redeem us from punishment in Hell. In the plan of redemption we'll find that it's God's will for us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.Does that mean that we won't have problems or maybe even diseases? absolutely not! The fact is, we live in an imperfect world in an imperfect body. Therefore, we're not exempt from problems or sickness . This is NOT heaven. But we can serve a God who can give answers to our problems and who certainly heal our body! A lot of times WE bring problems upon our ownselves and sometimes even diseases simply because of the chioces we make.(God will allow this because of our choice).

Sometimes...look at the Flood or Sodom and Gomorrah. God killed the wicked.

Other times God brings adversity...look at Job.

Sometimes punishment, sometimes testing, sometimes "the rain simply falls on believers and unbelievers alike."

Regardless, how we respond to these times makes a world of difference to Christ. Our faith should be unconditional, and not a slippery slope that depends upon our lot in life or based on what God does for us. Christ has already paid the price for our sins, and we deserve nothing but eternal torment in the lake of fire. If God did no more, He has already done more than enough.

Doesn't His Word tell us that if we do wrong that we will suffer? Here in this scripture Cain is promised acceptance and ''rule over'' his brother Able. But he rather chooses the bad that is offered over the good that he could have had.It is the Lords good pleasure to provide us with things that are good.We punish ourselves when we make the wrong choice. He provides the suffering for those who choose the wrong. Sin is a fountain of infirmities and afflictions, Forgiveness of sin is the foundation of the blessings that our Lord wants for all that serve Him faithfully.

Gen 4:7 "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

Some people do believe that. I don't. For some, it's a combo of two things. Either God gives people diseases or ill-fated disorders with no cures because of sins, or it is just a part of his will and he will use that person for the betterment of his kingdom. Either way you look at it, SOME Christians do believe that God gives people that on purpose. I don't. I have several people in my family with things that have no cure and will eventually kill them. I have a couple myself. I am not angry at God for giving it to me. It's just the nature of things. We live in an imperfect world with imperfect bodies. No one is perfect - we aren't without problems or disease or sickness. It's just how it is. That's the way I look at it - and for the most part -- that's how many look at it too.

I do not believe that God sends a diseaese or what-have-you. But God does give us free will and with free will we get to make lots and lots of choices. Some of those choices are bad, of course, and we can bring suffering on our own heads. Does this mean we "deserve" it? Not per se. It just means that was the consequence of our choice.

No, this does not answer for every disease, war or famine. But it may help you to see how interested God is in each of us on a deep personal level.

I bid you peace.

“When under trial, let no one say: ‘I am being tried by God.’ For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.” (James 1:13)

Loving parents warn their children how to avoid causing themselves problems. They don't force them to follow the most beneficial path, but teach them, & hope that they will, at least eventually. God is also loving & patient. He hopes that each of us will voluntarily make responsible decisions in shouldering the responsibilities we each have towards Him. The Creator is a loving God. His adversary is the one that likes to cause people trouble, as well as to fool them into worshipping him, instead of God.

Eventually, God will wipe out those who refuse to listen, & who continue causing trouble for themselves & everyone else. It is only right & loving that He end the misery that they began.

They will all eventually wind up in 'the second death', 'the lake that burns with fire'... even death & the grave will go into it, because it is symbolic for Everlasting Destruction, rather than eternal punishment! (Rev 21:8)
Death = Total Cessation of Life
--NOT permanent PAIN!

It is true that --in Bible times-- God did send a few calamities, in part to provide a basis upon which we can believe his future warnings & promises, &, in part to clean out Horrific Wickedness. For instance: Sodom & Gomorrah; The Flood...
